Spencer's heir apparent, Liam, had some choice words for his rival, Finn, today on The Bold and the Beautiful. He'd spent most of the episode consoling his best friend, Steffy, who'd been left home alone at the Cliff House after Finn had walked out with no word on if he'd return. That lit a fire under Liam's behind as he doesn't get why Finn is even struggling to process Sheila's death since Steffy killed her in self-defense.

He's not alone in that confusion. Finn's adoptive mother, Li, doesn't understand it either. She was adamant that her son find a way to build a bridge and move past his grief because if he's not careful he could lose the family he's built with Steffy. She's worried that he'll do something that his marriage can't withstand. But he may not be the hell or high water that Li should be concerned with. Let Liam tell it, he's the one that Finn needs to watch out for.

Liam carried himself down to the hospital to give Finn a talking to...or should I say, "John." No one calls Finn by his first name, but Liam did today. As he laid into his rival, the cadence and firm but whispery quality of Scott Clifton's performance was reminiscent of Don Diamont's portrayal of Liam's father, Bill Spencer. I was living even as Liam was overstepping big time.

Increasingly, Bill's eldest son has begun to adopt his traits. I don't know if it's just something that Finn brings out in him, but Liam is never more arrogant than when he's speaking to Steffy's husband. Especially if he's putting Finn on notice that if he doesn't shape up and go home, it's going to be him that she comes home to and not him. Finn pulled a face, but he didn't see Steffy laid up on Liam at the Cliff House like we did nor did he hear Liam's speech on how no matter what she, Kelly, and Hayes have him and the way Steffy appreciated that sentiment.

Steam are firmly in the realm of the platonic right now but that's because Steffy wants her marriage and is working hard to see things from Finn's perspective. The moment she stops trying to hold their bond together is when trouble will come their way. That might happen if he winds up getting a bit too close to her former rival, Hope.

The Logan paid her dad a visit this episode. They had a heart-to-heart where he was allowed to share his grief without her judgement. Though, for some reason, Deacon thought he would be the only one to truly mourn Sheila. It was a strange line since Finn was the one who cared enough to let him know that she was dead in the first place. It's not like Hope rushed to his side the minute she heard, she had to darn near be prompted in order to head down to Il Giardino to tell her dad the news.

Hope told Deacon about how Finn was sitting in his apartment holding a picture of Sheila and was clearly devastated. So now Deacon knows there's another person in the world who will miss the woman he loves. After leaving her dad's place, Hope went to work and was surprised to see Steffy there.

In the awkwardest and most tactless way, Hope tried to speak to Steffy about the ordeal she must have went through, but she ended up calling her a killer multiple times, and basically saying she wouldn't have made the same choice Steffy did. Irritated, and frankly feeling attacked regardless of Hope's well meant intentions, Steffy asked her to get to her point since she was getting a weird vibe from her.

It seems Hope was working toward finding a way to ask Steffy to be mindful of Finn's feelings. While I think it's good that he has someone to advocate for him when no one else really is, Hope's next words about Steffy being careful not to mess up her marriage crossed the line. The two have a checkered history and Hope is the last person that Steffy would want to talk about her marriage with let alone receive a hesitant warning about how it could be in trouble.

We didn't get Steffy's response in this episode, but she didn't look pleased to hear something like that coming from her former rival or to hear that her husband had confided in her. It'll be interesting how she addresses their apparent fledgling bond.

See you in the next recap, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
