We are officially one week away from Christmas! Have you finished all of your holiday shopping yet? I am not sure where the time went, but I am excited to be opening presents. Like we do every week, we’re sharing all the best Netflix movies and shows debuting beginning the week of Dec. 18, 2023.

It's been one incredible year for films and TV shows, especially new original content. Netflix had original movies like They Cloned Tyrone and Fair Play, while delivering top-notch TV in The Diplomat and Obliterated. Of course, if you're like me and love trash reality TV, this year we saw a massive season of Love is Blind with season four providing fruitful couples, while Perfect Match set the world on fire.

New Netflix movies and shows to watch this week

- Trevor Noah: Where Was I, streaming Dec. 19
- Maestro, streaming Dec. 20
- Rebel Moon, streaming Dec. 22

I have seen Maestro three times and every time it raises the stakes with what Bradley Cooper was capable of doing behind the camera. The film follows the love story of American conductor Leonard Bernstein (Cooper) and actress Felicia Montealegre (Carey Mulligan). It's a carefully crafted love story told in a way that we've never seen before. I only wish everyone could've seen this on the big screen like I do. I hope Cooper and Mulligan continue to get their flowers throughout this entire award season.

Want more? Zack Snyder is back in the director's chair with the release of his latest film Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire. It follows the story of a colony on the edge of the galaxy threatened by the armies led by Regent Balisarius. Snyder shot the film in two parts with Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver set to release on April 19, 2024. The star-studded cast is led by Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Michiel Huisman, and Ray Fisher.
