Heading into the 2024 Golden Globes, all eyes are on Barbie as they should be. The global phenomenon enters the night as the most-nominated movie of the year with a total of nine nominations including a well-earned nomination for the film's lead Margot Robbie.

Robbie is set to compete for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for her role as Barbie in the film. She's the favorite among audiences and critics alike to take home the award for her flawless performance, and rightfully so.

Barbie was one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces to have hit the big screens in ages and Robbie was the key to the film's breakout success. Robbie was spectacular in the role bringing her such a layered performance that effortlessly blended together humor and heart, leaving audiences laughing one moment and then moved to tears the next with her brilliant performance. Though we're far from surprised as Robbie is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood, who has a knack for creating characters audiences fall in love with.

Perhaps it's for this reason why you might be shocked to know that Robbie has never won a Golden Globe. That's right. Take it in, we'll wait.

Margot Robbie has never won a Golden Globe

Although Margot Robbie is one of the biggest names in Hollywood and has appeared in several acclaimed films over the years, award show glory has long alluded her over the years. Not only has Robbie yet to take home an Oscar, but she's somehow never won a Golden Globe despite being nominated several times over the years.

Robbie's first nomination came in 2018 when Robbie picked up her first Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Tonya Harding in I, Tonya. Robbie was favored to take home the Golden Globe for her performance, but it was Saoirse Ronan who walked away with the win for her performance in Lady Bird.

In the years since her first Golden Globe nomination in 2018, Robbie has been nominated three additional times including this year with her nomination for Barbie; however, she's yet to take home a win which is truly shocking given the performances she's given over the years which helped to secure her nominations at the event.

Margot Robbie has been nominated for 4 Golden Globes

As of 2024, Margot Robbie has been nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, all in the acting categories with each of these nominations coming in the last six years. In total, three of the nominations have come via the Lead Actress races with one for Supporting nomination in the mix over the years.

Here's a quick recap of Robbie's four Golden Globe nominations:

  • Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy - I, Tonya (2018)
  • Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture - Bombshell (2020)
  • Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy - Babylon (2023)
  • Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy - Barbie (2024)

Hopefully, Robbie will finally take home her first win tonight for Barbie but at this point, we sadly wouldn't be shocked if the Globes didn't snub her again.
