Mira Sorvino and tonight's Celebrity Jeopardy contestants (Jan. 2, 2024)
Who's ready for another round of Celebrity Jeopardy tonight? I sure am! The game show is back with a new episode this evening, Jan. 2, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET. on ABC. We've finally reached the point where we're kicking off the semifinals. Three celeb contestants compete this evening, but only one moves on to the finals for the chance to win some big money for their chosen charity.
We've had so many great stars on this season, but we're nearing the end starting with tonight's first semifinals round. So who can you expect to see? Tonight's Celebrity Jeopardy contestants are Mira Sorvino from Shining Veil, Utkarsh Ambudkar from Ghosts, and b from Abbott Elementary.
In the quarterfinals, Sorvino beat out Adam Rodriguez and Peter Schrager; Ambudkar won against Mark Duplass and Emily Hampshire; and Walter was the champ amongst Brian Baumgartner and Timothy Simons. All three of these celeb contestants are good, and it's going to be so exciting and interesting to see who moves on to the finals. I'll be honest, I'm definitely cheering Ambudkar on! Ghosts is one of my favorite shows on right now so I can't help it. Who are you hoping to see move on to the finals?
Mira Sorvino
Sorvino is an actress known for her role as Lauren Ash in Mighty Aphrodite, which she received an Oscar and Golden Globe for in the Best Supporting Actress category. The talent, who is 56 years old, has also portrayed Marilyn Monroe in Norma Jean & Marilyn, Amy Whelan in Intruders, Nicole Rosemary Page in Modern Family, and Rosemary Wellingham in Shining Vale. Her father is actor Paul Sorvino and her brother is actor and producer Michael Sorvino.
Utkarsh Ambudkar
Fan-favorite Jay Arondekar on Ghosts is of course played by the one and only Utkarsh Ambudkar! The actor, 40, has previously appeared in Pitch Perfect, Ride Along 2, Tick, Tick... Boom!, Marry Me starring Jennifer Lopez, and is the voice of King Bumi in Avatar: The Last Airbender. The talent got married in 2019 and has three children. He revealed he's now been sober for more than eight years.
Lisa Ann Walter
One of the best shows on the air right now is definitely Abbott Elementary! Walter plays teacher Melissa Schemmenti. Fans of the 1998 movie The Parent Trap may remember the actress as Chessy. She's also known for My Wildest Dreams and Life's Work. The actress, 60, created, produced, and starred in both shows.
Be sure to mark you calendars for Jan. 9 and Jan. 16 for the other two semifinals episodes coming up! On Jan 9, we'll see actor Steven Weber, sports commentator Katie Nolan, and actor Dulé Hill. Then the following week, Saturday Night Live's Rachel Dratch, CBS Sunday Morning's Mo Rocca, and comedian Heather McMahan go head-to-head. Are you ready!?
