Missy Peregrym hasn't said she's leaving FBI (but that doesn't mean Maggie isn't leaving)

If there is one thing that FBI franchise fans have come to expect, it’s that cast changes are inevitable and there is truly no telling when a lead character might unexpectedly exit the series. Several series regulars have exited the various FBI shows since their respective starts with FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted both losing their leads after just a few seasons.
So when the latest season of FBI began laying the groundwork for Special Agent Maggie Bell to potentially depart the show, it created an understandable level of concern among fans.
The good news is that leading up to the FBI season 6 finale on May 21, Missy Peregrym has not announced her departure from the show. If she were planning on leaving, one would assume that Peregrym would have released some sort of statement addressing her potential exit or that word would have broken that she was exiting the series – after all, CBS did announce the departures of both Luke Kleintank and Julian McMahon from FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted ahead of their exits.
Leading up to the finale, there have been no suggestions that FBI is about to lose its lead; however, that doesn’t mean her exit couldn’t still come.
FBI has introduced a potential exit storyline for Maggie
Season 6 of FBI has seen Maggie becoming the guardian of Ella, the young daughter of Maggie’s friend and fellow agent Jessica who tragically died earlier this season. Since becoming Ella’s guardian, Maggie has been struggling with the dangers her job puts her in and we’ve seen her struggling with the idea of making Ella an orphan again.
In the April 23 episode, “Family Affair,” Maggie was shot but luckily the bullet hit her Kevlar vest and saved her from injury. After the close call – just an inch down or to the left and Maggie might not have lived to see another day – Maggie admitted to OA that she worried about Ella and how much she needed her telling him, “I worry about Ella. I mean, how can I not? If something were to happen to me, that poor girl would have to start over? Again? She needs me.”
Later in the episode as it came to a close, OA told Isobel that he thinks Maggie could use some time off, telling her that yes he did believe Maggie needed to be benched as “she almost made that little girl an orphan all over again.”
That move isn’t likely going to go over well with Maggie, but the reality is that becoming a mother to Ella has made Maggie see her work in a different light. They put themselves in life-or-death situations every day, so it’s understandable that she is considering walking away from the job in order to prevent Ella from losing her as well.
With three episodes of FBI still to come this season, we should know soon whether Maggie will be leaving FBI so be sure to tune into the remaining episodes of season 6 every Tuesday 8/7c on CBS!
