The new episode of NCIS had some fun twists and turns involving the case of a missing petty officer. Plus, Nick had to stay with Parker since his apartment was infested with mold. How did the team solve the case?

Petty Officer Derek Bailey had been planning a proposal to his pregnant girlfriend, Tanya, when he was abducted. It looked like it could be the work of professionals who were after information he knew due to his work. However, things were not as they appeared.

They learned that he had actually used a business that deals with putting people in situations that scared them. It was a way for them to overcome something they were fearful of, such as isolation. However, Bailey’s fake kidnapping actually turned into a real kidnapping when one of the employees is found dead.

Evidence leads them to a new hire named Mickey Steele, who has abducted Derek in order to gain ransom money from a man named Ron Davenport. He’s a wealthy man who had recently learned Derek is his biological son.

Things take another turn when Mickey abducts Tanya since the team convinced Davenport not to pay the ransom. The team is able to find Tanya fighting to get away from Mickey and Derek is rescued.

All in a day’s work, right? Well, at least until Tanya’s story doesn’t match the facts. While she claimed that Mickey put her in the trunk of his car, Knight realized she couldn’t fit.

Plus, the blood she left behind to make it look like Mickey hurt her showed she was never pregnant. She put the entire heist together in a ruse. Derek helps the team catch her confession before he reunites with his father.

Overall, this episode was enjoyable to watch, especially since Nick was dealing with his living situation. It was even better that Parker and Nick both thought the other was on a health kick. We love seeing moments where the characters are clearly bonding and helping each other off screen. This is especially important for Nick who started the season having a difficult time once again.
