Celebrating New Year's Eve might involve going out and having fun. But some of us like to commemorate the new year at home. And that can be just as fun! Thankfully, there's New Year's Eve specials that are put on for those of us who want to do just that. And this year, you'll want to make sure you tune in to both ABC and CBS to ring in the new year. 2024, here we come! Get ready for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024 on ABC and New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash on CBS.

New Year's Eve special on ABC

The Dick Clark New Year's Eve special has become a tradition on the network. Since 2005, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has been hosting the event to help us count down to the new year. And his contract has just been extended through Jan. 1, 2029, per a press release.

You can tune in to the ABC special Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023 starting at 8 p.m. ET, and the broadcast will keep going until about 2:15 a.m. ET. Seacrest is hosting the event live at Times Square, along with singer Rita Ora.

It's not just NYC that will be highlighted during the ABC event. New this year is a stage in Los Angeles, with Jeannie Mai co-hosting there. And those in the Atlantic time zone, get ready to party from Puerto Rico in a "Spanish-language countdown" with co-host Dayanara Torres. Join Seacrest and his fellow co-hosts for a night of fun!
