One Day and the best new Netflix movies and shows to watch this week (Feb. 5)

We are one week away from the return of Love is Blind, and I am excited to talk about the series with each of you. Like we do every week, we’re sharing all the best Netflix movies and shows debuting beginning the week of Feb. 5, 2024.

It's weeks like this where we have a small amount of releases where I want to highlight some recent shows you may have missed. Reality TV fans, if you missed The Trust: A Game of Greed, it's an easy binge-able show that will keep your attention throughout. Or if you are looking for a TV series to binge, you have shows like The Brother's Sun or Griselda that are both worth checking out. 

Crime Junkies rejoice with a brand new docuseries titled Love, Stalker, Killer. Dave tried online dating, and his promising connections were two women named Liz and Cari. Both were single moms, and they brought out the best in Dave. While it should've led to Dave living happily ever after, it became a love triangle. Using interviews for everyone, including the officers who cracked the case, comes a reenacted tail that brings Dave's four-year nightmare to life. (Streaming on Feb. 9)

Based on the webtoon by Kkomabi comes the Netflix original series A Killer Paradox. The series follows an ordinary man who becomes a serial killer and a detective dead set on catching him. It stars Choi Woo-shik and Son Suk-ku. (Streaming on Feb. 9) 

As for our biggest recommendations for the week...

Based on David Nicholls's bestseller One Day, it follows the story of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew, who speak for the first time on the night of their graduation. The series finds Dex and Em each year on this one date as they grow and change, which is a decade-spanning love story. Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall star in the lead roles of Emma and Dexter. (Streaming on Feb. 8)
