The Bold and the Beautiful has finally answered the question we've all been asking: Why haven't Brooke and Ridge gotten married? The couple have been engaged for quite sometime. They've discussed it on and off. At one point, Ridge designed several wedding dresses for Brooke to choose from but she ultimately decided that she wanted to design her own. But the two haven't made any more progress.

On Thursday, Sept. 19's episode of the soap, Brooke assured her sisters--Donna and Katie--that she and Ridge's relationship is in a good place. She feels that they've matured, their bond is strong, and that they've gone through so much together. Essentially, she doesn't think anything could tear them asunder. It's why Brooke isn't worried that Taylor is back in town. Unlike in the past, she truly believes that she doesn't have to be on guard. Her sisters, however, plan on keeping their eyes on the good doctor and they should!

Taylor and Ridge continued their heart-to-heart at Eric's with Ridge questioning his best friend on why she didn't come say hello when they were in Monaco. She said that it was because she knew that it wouldn't be welcomed by Brooke but it was obvious that Ridge didn't much care about as he'll always want to see her no matter what.

That's why he got up the nerve to tell her without reserve that it's not just his family that wants her to stay, he does, too. Ridge has consistently held that Taylor is the glue that keeps them all together. Their vulnerability, including when their conversation dipped toward their beloved daughter Phoebe and how they see her all around them even though she's gone, was beautiful. It was because of how honest they were with each other that Taylor decided to wade into some sticky territory.

She, like all of us, has wondered why Bridge haven't tied the knot so she asked him. Ridge was a bit uncomfortable with her line of questioning but he did answer. He admitted that they've spoken about it but it's just not something that's at the forefront of their minds. Ridge gave the impression that he's fine not getting married to Brooke again which left Taylor asking if he might not think it's necessary.

Their conversation steered away from that possibility after she voiced this but it is something to consider. Is it as simple as Ridge being fine with his companionship and partnership with Brooke that he's unhurried to wed? Is it deeper than that and he's unsure of getting married to her yet again since it doesn't seem to work out? Or is Ridge still stuck on the possibility of Taylor who he'd nearly married before it was revealed that it was Thomas who called CPS and not Brooke?

Wherever Ridge's head is, what's not in question is Taylor's feelings for him. She made that clear. In spite of everything, he is the love of her life and the man she always thought she'd grow old with. Distance and time hasn't changed that and upon hearing her words, Ridge looked close to folding like a table. Donna and Katie are right, Brooke needs to watch out!
