There's something seriously wrong with Hope Logan on Bold and the Beautiful

Hope Logan has been a bit all over the place since her break-up with Thomas on The Bold and the Beautiful. Steffy Forrester's assertion that when her former rival is lost she gets reckless, rang clear and true on Monday, July 22's episode of the soap. I'd been hoping that Hope was having yet another fantasy about Steffy's husband, Dr. John Finnegan, but alas she truly did embarrass herself by blatantly coming onto him.

I have to say it was hard to watch, but I want to preface what I'm going to say next by affirming my belief that it's not out of character for her to go after a married or otherwise committed man. She did that multiple times when Liam was with Steffy. Today's attempted seduction, however, didn't feel like something she would do, at least not in the way she did it.

Hope is more prone to being on the receiving end of someone's attention and prefers to go after a person's heart. She's typically not one to use flirtation or her body to get what she wants with exception to when she was manipulating Thomas into signing over parental rights to her after their marriage was dissolved.

So her shameless passes at Finn have me wondering if any wrongdoing she might do in her quest to snag him for herself will get dismissed by an undiagnosed illness. Previously she had been complaining about migraines. She told Finn that they've gotten better and attributed it to his "healing hands" but the writers could circle back to this plot point further down the road.

Given her wildly out of character approach to hitting on Finn, there's reason to believe that they just might do that and possibly bring Thomas home, or halt his pending marriage to Paris, in the process. Hope's usual 'how to steal a man' playbook involves turning up the earnestness, making sure she's a listening ear, and having the opposite opinion of Steffy to ingratiate herself more with the object of her desire. That used to be Liam and now it's Finn.

If Hope isn't sick and The Bold and the Beautiful isn't laying down the groundwork for what could be a meaty medical emergency or health crisis storyline for Annika Noelle, then the Hope we're seeing on our screens is truly just as lost as Steffy said she was. We know this because she couldn't even recognize that Finn not only felt disrespected by her advances but was also offended. What she was trying to pass off as playful banter truly ended up being a woman embarrassing herself by continuing to pursue a man who isn't interested in the slightest.

Over the years, Hope has been written to say a lot about her mother, Brooke Logan, and how she doesn't want to be like her. She doesn't want to be a homewrecker, and she doesn't want to hurt people the way Brooke did. And yet there she was in the dressing room attempting to do the very thing she said she didn't want. The difference between the two though is Brooke has always had a piece of the men she's wanted even as they fought to stay true to their wives or partners. That certainly isn't the case for Hope when it comes to Finn, and she's missing that by a mile.

Could The Bold and the Beautiful be setting Hope up for a major fall and personal reckoning? Or is her lack of impulse control a symptom of a larger, potentially life-threatening problem? Follow us on X and let us know what you think! Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more news and coverage.
