Station 19 season 7 episode 6 preview: Is Vic leaving Station 19?
By Cody Schultz
Tonight’s new episode of Station 19 is sure to have fans wondering if Station 19 is about to lose one of its own, and no, we’re not talking about a potential death in the line of duty.
Last week, Vic finally reached a breaking point after learning that Mayor Osman planned on cutting funding to the Crisis One program. Following an intense call responding to an emergency at the Seattle Space Needle, tensions reached a boiling point and Vic ended up making quite a scene. During the press after the call, Vic cut Mayor Osman off and blasted him in front of the press for his decision to cut funds to the Crisis One program.
After her outburst, it seems Crisis One isn’t the only thing now in jeopardy as Vic’s career could be about to go up in smoke!
Station 19 season 7 episode 6 promo and synopsis
The promo for this week’s episode makes it clear that Vic is in very hot water and the mayor is gunning for her head after she embarrassed him at the press conference. Honestly, we’re not surprised at all, after all, she did put him on blast for all of Seattle to see.
While Vic does have Andy and Chief Ross in her corner, Mayor Osman literally holds Vic’s future in his hands and it is clear that he wants to make an example of her. He even goes as far as trying to reason with her by saying that after Vic is fired she can allocate Vic’s salary anywhere she sees fit.
As Vic finds herself on probation and in danger of losing her job, fans can expect to see her looking back on the good that Crisis One has done over the years since it was launched.
Here’s how ABC describes this week’s episode:
“With both Vic’s job and Crisis One in jeopardy, a flashback shows how the program has changed the lives of the team and the local community. Meanwhile, Ben keeps a secret from Bailey.”
We have a feeling Vic won’t lose her job
While the promo and synopsis for this week’s new Station 19 seem to hint that Vic might be in danger of being fired, we’re pretty sure it’s a misdirect. This is the final season of Station 19, and with only a few episodes left in the farewell season, we’d be shocked if the show sidelined Vic by having her lose her job. We’ve already lost Jack this season after his injury and firing Vic would be a devastating blow we’re not sure the writers would take this late in the final season.
Mayor Osman might try to tempt Chief Ross, but I don’t see her backing down and not having the back of a firefighter under her command. There’s no way she doesn’t do everything in her power to ensure Vic keeps her job and we’ve seen the lengths she’ll go to to stand up for what’s right.
Plus, if Vic was really about to get fired, would the ABC team really make it that obvious with the promotional materials for the episode? This is Shondaland we’re talking about and big twists tend to happen when we least expect them, not after they were splashed across the promos.
