Whenever an ultimatum gets dropped in the middle of an argument, more times than not it doesn't bode well for the person who issues it and that's likely to be the case for Steffy Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. On Monday, May 13's episode of the soap, she began to wrap her head around the deep connection between her husband, Finn, and his birth mother.

It was hard enough accepting that she didn't actually kill Sheila Carter like she thought because it reopened a door to her personal terror that she thought she'd closed with the end of a knife. But it turns out that it was her nemesis' nightmare that she'd stabbed not her own. Add Finn calling his mom a hero for offering herself up to Sugar instead of Steffy and their kids, and you have an untenable situation. Hence, Steffy making Finn choose between her and Sheila.

He, of course, chose her, but that's not likely to hold. Finn told Steffy that learning Sheila is still alive gave him a second chance at being able to help her. He believes she's reformed, and he doesn't want to turn his back on her. Finn was honest and vulnerable with his wife and, she was the same with him. The problem is that there's just no way Finn isn't going to slip. Not when he believes that Sheila truly does love him and his family.

According to the spoilers, by the end of the week (May 17), we'll be seeing him "grapple with the weight of his situation with Steffy and Sheila." What could that mean? Well, not only is everyone starting to find out that Sheila is alive, there's also the fact that she and Deacon are engaged. With plans underway for the two to be wed, it stands to reason the lovebirds are going to want Finn to be a part of the festivities.

Not to mention, he already promised his mom that he was going to be a part of her life and she's going to be a part of his. Finn will feel pulled between the two and it's not going to help matters that, based on the promo, Steffy is once again going to be warning Sheila away from her husband. It's true there's generations of trauma that stems from Sheila's interactions with the Forresters, but that's not something Finn can connect to.

What he knows is that he lost decades with his birth mother. He's aware of her crimes and understands that she's done evil deeds, but that's not the woman he knows even after she left him and Steffy for dead in Il Giardino's alley. The Sheila he believes he's dealing with is the one who saved Kelly from drowning and who offered up her life in place of his family's to a woman hellbent on hurting them in her revenge plot.

Sheila may not be as reformed as Finn would like to believe, but she isn't the person she was that fateful night at Il Giardino either. It's doubtful that's going to be seen by the Forresters on The Bold and the Beautiful but she's likely content with Deacon and Finn (and possibly Hope) as her allies. What that means for Sinn's marriage is being left in the air for now, but it's definitely going to be rough waters for the pair going forward. And Steffy may just make good on her threat and leave Finn if she decides she's had enough.
