Taylor is MIA on Bold and the Beautiful but that doesn't mean she's off the soap (at least we hope not)

The Bold and the Beautiful is currently in a heartwrenching storyline as Eric's illness threatens to take his life. We've spent months concerned that the Forrester patriarch would be taking his final bow on the soap but, as of Dec. 13's episode, he's holding on and there's a possibility he can be saved through an experimental treatment. But fans are wondering why an important member of the family isn't present.

Dr. Taylor Hayes, despite having a relationship with Eric, and currently being in Los Angeles, hasn't been pulled into this storyline. A throwaway line hasn't even been offered for why she isn't present. We were told three of Eric's children were off on safari and wouldn't be able to make it back in time for his impromptu party that they had no idea was a farewell soiree. Yet Taylor's absence hasn't been brought up. The characters haven't even concerned themselves with telling her that Eric is dying.

I find that to be plausible for everyone but Ridge, Steffy, and Thomas. In the past, when there wasn't an actress in the role on The Bold and the Beautiful, this could be overlooked. But Krista Allen has been playing the good doctor since 2021 so it's glaring that as Taylor's loved ones fall apart, she's not there to share in their grief and support them, particularly her children.

There's been no indication that she'll be returning to the soap anytime soon. Allen took to Twitter on Dec. 10, 2023 to celebrate her second anniversary as Taylor and expressed to fans in her replies that she misses the character, too. Hopefully we'll see her in the new year and that this isn't an indication that we should be bracing for yet another exit for Taylor.

Krista Allen is nominated for a Daytime Emmy, Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Drama Series. The ceremony airs Friday, Dec. 15 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+. Hidden Remote will keep you posted as more The Bold and the Beautiful news comes in. Stay tuned!
