The 4 men going to Hometowns on Jenn Tran's season of The Bachelorette

Updated: Aug. 19, 2024 - An earlier version of this article stated that Marcus and his sister weren't adopted. This has been corrected.
We're closing on the final stretch of The Bachelorette season 21 and things are getting quite serious. How so? Well, in the sixth episode, Jenn Tran chose the four men she sees enough of a future with to meet their families. Her first decision happened on the first one-on-one date of the episode which doubled as Wicked promo!
Marcus
Jenn wanted to go on a solo date with Marcus so she could figure out whether he's as invested in their relationship as she is. While they were on their Yellow Brick Road date, he did admit that he likes to take things slow. We know it's because he's scared of getting hurt, and Marcus has struggled expressing what's keeping him from opening up. But, by the time they sat down for their dinner date on a baseball field, he was ready to share.
Marcus told Jenn that he and his sister were abandoned by their parents. They grew up in the foster care system and were later adopted. Dealing with a traumatic childhood, and stepping up to take care of his sister who is the most important person in his life, has caused him to be closed off and hesitant about putting himself out there romantically.
The day they spent together and their talk about his upbringing sealed the deal, Marcus received a rose and he will be introducing Jenn to his sister.
Jeremy
Finally Jeremy got a one-on-one date and it came at the best time. With Hometowns on the line, he made the most of their day together. The two went to the market, had some laughs, tossed some fish, and got their palms read. Jeremy even made a bouquet for Jenn which was a sweet gesture.
But what our leading lady really wanted to know was if she could dig deeper in their relationship. They're comfortable with one another and have a good time, but she wanted to see if they have depth. Their dinner date proved that they do. The pair had a conversation about family and the future they saw together. During their chat they discussed kids and religion.
Since they're both open minded, they think that if they were to have kids that they should grow up learning about their respective faiths, Buddhism and Judaism. It's important to them and being of like mind in that way proved to Jenn that Jeremy should get a rose.
Devin
If you've been keeping up with the season then you know this one was a no brainer. Devin and Jenn hit it off on the first night and their bond has only grown stronger since then. This episode, Devin did tell our leading lady that he'd expressed to his mother that he'd only bring a woman home if she were someone he was proud to be with and that she'd be proud to have dating her son. Jenn fits squarely in both of those categories and he said that he's falling for her. Jenn was visibly moved by his words and it was clear he'd be getting a rose at the ceremony.
Jonathan
Any time Jenn and Jonathan are together they have a great time. They seem to put each other at ease but are also able to maintain a playfulness that they clearly enjoy. Hometowns will be an opportunity for the two to test the depth of their feelings for one another as Jenn navigates meeting Jonathan's family and he has some serious conversations about where they might stand. Interestingly, he seems to be wondering whether the Jenn he knows on the show will be the same Jenn he's engaged to if she chooses him. It's a fair question though it's likely the same question Jenn has about all her suitors.
