The 911 season 7 finale is coming sooner than you think! (Finale premiere date)
By Sabrina Reed
Time flies when there's action afoot! 911 started its first run on ABC back in March but its season 7 finale is approaching quickly. This is due to the allotted episode count for this run. Instead of the usual 18, the series received a 10 episode order for its seventh season. This was due to the delay in production as a result of last year's Hollywood strikes. So, while it might feel like season 7 has just gotten started, its finale is set to air on Thursday, May 30 at 8 p.m. ET.
We have three episodes between then and now so we don't even have an episode title to share yet. But, we can expect the ride to the finale to continue to be just as drama-laden, soapy, and high octane as the rest of the season has been.
Season 7 opened with a three episode arc that saw Bobby and Athena's cruise getting hijacked by pirates. Buck made a self-discovery and realized that he's bisexual which has led to a romance with Tommy. Maddie and Chimney's wedding got massively derailed though the two still tied the knot. And now 911 is gearing up for a storyline that brings Bobby's past back into focus.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner will guest star as a character named Amir. The hospital burn unit nurse was a burn victim himself by evidence of his face. It's yet to be revealed just how he's connected to Bobby, but if he's not someone the captain saved back in the day, then we might be looking at a darker plot involving the fire that stole Bobby's family. This could mean bracing for a dive back into that tragedy or the reveal of one we'd never known about. We'll find out soon thanks to "Ghost of a Second Chance."
Whatever happens in the final episodes of season 7, fans can at least count on the series making a return for an eighth season. News broke back in April that 911 had the green light for another season on ABC. Given its increased viewership, an early renewal made sense and was wonderful news for the team behind the series and the fandom as well.
ABC hasn't revealed its 2024-2025 schedule yet, but we're likely to see the procedural return to the Fall TV slate. With few exceptions, two of which were due to the pandemic and then the strikes, the series has been a fall staple. If its new network decides to keep that tradition going, we should see 911 season 8 in September. We'll keep you posted as news comes in. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote!
