The CSI: Vegas series finale will be explosive (literally!) with more than one life on the line
CSI: Vegas’s unplanned series finale is going to be literally explosive! Are fans in for an unresolved cliffhanger?
It’s always a risk when a show “on the bubble” approaches its season finale. Too many shows have planned to end with a cliffhanger in hopes it will help renewal chances only for it to be canceled after all. Fans are worried that CSI: Vegas may be joining that list.
Obviously, the producers had no idea that aeason 3 would be the final one for the revival of the iconic franchise. The season did get to a late start due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, debuting in mid-February, moved to Sunday nights and only has 10 episodes for the season.
The show has been doing its best with plotlines like Josh dealing with being demoted after a messy murder case and Maxine suspecting there was more behind the death of a tech genius than there seemed. Even with a shorter order, the series has tried to remain as entertaining as ever. The show still relied on the fun cases and the terrific turns and effects to try and maintain its audience.
Sadly, that wasn’t enough, as CBS confirmed last week that CSI: Vegas would end with its third season. And given the plot, fans may be right to worry about no resolution to come.
What happens on the CSI: Vegas series finale?
The season 3 finale, “Tunnel Vision,” is described as having an explosion occur in a biolab that leaves one team member injured while another is kidnapped, and the rest of the team races to find them.
"After an explosion in a bio lab, the CSI team races to determine which nerve agent left one of their own unconscious, while the others explore a dangerous underground tunnel to find another CSI who got kidnapped during the blast."
So far, there’s no trailer, not surprising as the show still has three episodes to go before the May 19 finale. Again, as the show was wrapped up before the news of the cancellation came down, if it ends on a cliffhanger, it’s unlikely to find resolution. While SWAT managed to survive cancellation for renewal, it doesn’t appear CSI: Vegas has the same ratings to justify a reversal.
So fans now have to see what’s now the series finale of CSI: Vegas and if it ends on a mystery that never gets solved.
CSI: Vegas airs Sundays at 10/9c on CBS.
