The Way Home has returned for its second season. The series, which takes place in Port Haven, New Brunswick, is set in a beautiful small town with farmland and forests that are breathtaking. The beloved locale in the Hallmark Channel series, however, isn't a real place. You can't visit Port Haven but it is possible to visit where the show is filmed and taken in the beauty of the area.
It might surprise you to learn that though Port Haven is a fictional town located in New Brunswick, that's not where the show is filmed. Production actually takes place in Ontario, Canada, specifically in the district of Scarborough which is located in the Toronto metro area. As reported by The Cinemaholic, the township of Uxbridge is also a stand-in for downtown Port Haven. Last season, the Roxy theater was a shooting location for Port Haven's long-standing institution of the same name that was closing.
Ontario is known for its forests and parks. In particular, Scarborough and Uxbridge are home to beaches and shoreside cafes. Highland Creek and Rouge River also run through Scarborough's region and the Bluffs are a picturesque feature of the district's topography. The Way Home's shooting locations give it the best of many worlds between the suburbs, farmland, and sprawling parks.
Season 2 of the series filmed from Aug. 2, 2023-Dec. 5, 2023. An official episode count for the second season hasn't been announced, but it's expected to have 10 episodes like the first season. New episodes air Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel. Next day streaming is available on Peacock.
