Buckle up, Fire Country fam! Apparently, the fight we saw between Manny Perez and Luke Leone in season 2, episode 8, "It's Not Over," wasn't a one-off moment played just for the drama. It's going to have repercussions for Manny and his growth. First, he hit the Division Chief in front of everyone, including the governor, so we can expect there to be problems that arise from that but I'm more worried about the emotional fallout from his actions.

Why? Well, Stephanie Arcila (Gabriela Perez) had a sit down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about the episode, and preview what's next for her character, and in it she teased the following when asked about Manny:

"People should be worried. This is an explosive outburst that was due to people triggering him like Roberta. We’re all responsible for our own actions, but we’re human and we do have triggers. This is him going back to what he used to be and it’s not him anymore, so everybody’s really concerned, including Gabriela because it ties to her feeling abandoned."

The Manny from before, as Roberta described him, had no impulse control. His passion ran wild and reckless; it was detrimental to his future. Manny can't afford to be that man anymore. He's got people counting on him and who look up to him because he found a way to channel that energy into something good, something purposeful. Cal Fire doesn't need a loose cannon especially not where 42 is set to go in episode 9, "No Future, No Consequences."

The Lazarus campaign fire is the crux of the penultimate episode and the firefighters who've been called up will be tasked with containing the fire before it can reach the town of Welles. This is dangerous work and they'll all be counting on each other. From the quick glimpse we get of Manny in the promo, he'll be narrowly making it out of a blast zone which is worrisome. But so are Arcila's words that Gabriela will be sorting through her feelings on being abandoned.

It points to Manny isolating himself which isn't a good thing during a normal day on the job but at a campaign fire that can't happen. Everyone there needs a level head and if you don't have that, it can lead to dangerous circumstances. Hopefully Manny can get get his head on straight and soon, otherwise he may pay a steep price.

"No Future, No Consequences" airs Friday, May 10 on CBS. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more Fire Country news and coverage!
