These 5 Bob's Burgers Christmas episodes are must-watches this year
Time to deck the halls, wrap presents, and stream some Bob's Burgers episodes. While the show has wrapped up for 2023, there is still plenty of time to watch some of the show's best Christmas episodes.
While everyone has a different opinion on which Bob's Burgers Christmas episodes are best, the good thing is that there are so many to choose from. Whether you're wanting something heartfelt or just plain weird, the animated series has it all.
Despite how weird some episodes may be, the show makes sure the love is still there. Some shows tend to lose the heart in favor of the plot and that's not to say the series hasn't. However, in the case of holiday episodes, Bob's doesn't pull any punches. No matter if you're new to the Bob's Burgers fandom or just want something new to watch during the holiday season, these 5 episodes will fill you with Christmas cheer.
Need some holiday cheer? Try out these Bob's Burgers Christmas episodes!
#5: "God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins"
The first episode I had to feature was the first Bob's Burgers Christmas episode. Airing in Season 3, "God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins" is definitely on the weird scale. The episode follows Bob who is bequeathed his uncle's storage unit and when he opens it, he says a man is living there. Since it's Christmas, the Belchers feel bad for him and decide to let him stay with them.
To repay Bob's kindness, Chet designs windows at the restaurant and we find out a secret about his former life and love. Yes, this episode is absurd but it's also a lot of fun. In the end, the kids do what they can to help Chet even at the cost of themselves. If you haven't watched this episode yet, you're missing out.
#4: "The Bleakening Parts 1 and 2"
Skipping ahead a few seasons, no one can deny how great "The Bleakening" is. The show's first two-part Christmas episode is truly a spectacle. The episode follows Linda, trying to find out who stole her Christmas decorations and the kids believe it's the Bleaken so they go looking for it but end up somewhere completely unexpected.
Once again, this is a somewhat strange Christmas episode but we see the Belchers all together in an unlikely setting and the episode even includes an epic Christmas song. This episode gets a lot of love which is rightfully deserved as it's over-the-top yet incredibly fun which is what the show is all about.
#3: "The Plight Before Christmas"
Moving onto a more recent Christmas episode, "The Plight Before Christmas" is one of the few Bob's Burgers Christmas episodes I cried in. The episode follows Bob and Linda as they're trying to attend three different Christmas programs for the kids. It's truly a trainwreck from start to finish but the episode comes to a head when we finally get to hear Louise's Christmas poem about her family.
This episode starts off one way and completely turns the tables on the viewers. That's one thing I can appreciate about the show's holiday episodes. This one is surprisingly emotional and hearing Louise's poem is sure to bring a tear to your eye.
#2: "The Nightmare 2 Days Before Christmas"
Even though this is Season 14's Christmas episode, I have to include it. While I won't get into too many details, this episode is worth watching if you missed out. In true Belcher fashion, everything goes wrong yet the Belchers try to make the best of their situation. The end of the episode was another one that made me somewhat emotional as it featured a heartfelt moment with the kids.
#1: "Christmas in the Car"
The final episode making the cut on my 2023 Bob's Burgers Christmas list is "Christmas in the Car" which is from Season 6. This episode has some truly unforgettable moments including Linda's love for the Christmas tree which has become a meme shared all over social media and Gene's obsession with hearing Jingle in the Jungle. Honestly, I could go on and on about this one.
If you only watch one Bob's Burgers episode this holiday season, you need to watch "Christmas in the Car" as it's incredibly funny and even has a touching moment at the end. Plus the guest appearance by Bobcat Goldthwait is so underrated. Even if you're a casual viewer of the series, make sure to add this episode to your Christmas watchlist.
Those are just some unforgettable Bob's Burgers Christmas episodes worth watching this holiday season. If you're a fan of the show, I'm sure you're familiar with all of these. If not, then you have some catching up to do and that's exactly what the holidays are all about.
