You've got to give it to Thomas, he's walking a fine line of being truthful with his sister, Steffy, about what happened the night that Emma died. We know that he didn't intentionally kill her, as he put it, but we also know that responsibility is still very much sitting on his doorstep unless The Bold and the Beautiful writers decided to add something to the story.

After another conversation with Finn, with the good doctor pushing her to ask her brother point blank about that night, she went to go talk to Thomas. He was wrapping up the sketch he told Hope he needed to finish for their line before heading to her house, but Steffy stopped him when he tried to leave.

We didn't get too far with their talk besides Thomas saying Xander was right about one thing, that he was a person of interest in the investigation and that he should have been, so I suspect they'll be diving into Thomas' version of the story tomorrow on the soap. But I did find it interesting that Steffy said that the truth needs to come out, and Thomas agreed. How they plan on doing that I have no idea.

Back at the hospital, Li walked in on Finn still stewing over what he'd learned from Xander. While he didn't fully share with his mom what he'd been told, he did tell her that it was about Thomas. Li was concerned that pushing about whatever is going on would cause tension between Finn and Steffy, but he assured her that it wouldn't.

To be honest, I'm with Li. He doesn't need to worry himself with being Hope's protector and, like Li pointed out, the history between his wife and her former rival isn't anything he should go stirring up. But Finn likely isn't done stirring especially if he can't rest in the fact that Steffy's going to trust her brother's word even if he's insistent that Thomas hasn't "proven" himself yet.

Liam learns Thomas proposed to Hope

At the cabin, Hope was setting up for her night with Thomas when Liam barged in uninvited and like he still lived there. He picked up pretty quickly that he was interrupting but did not see himself out. Instead, Hope filled him in on Xander's return to Los Angeles and like a bright, neon showcasing that something is a miss here, Liam didn't seem surprised. In fact, he appeared giddy and delighted by the idea that Xander was breaking up Thomas' happiness. Perhaps Xander isn't so innocently back in town after all, just a thought.

Defensive and tired of his continuous dismissal of her relationship, Hope once again reminded her ex-husband that Thomas has changed. The conversation briefly paused to acknowledge the engagement ring that Hope is wearing around her neck, but Liam wasn't too deterred. He actually found it amusing because it showed him that Hope couldn't tell his rival, "Yes." Hope said, "Not yet," but that didn't really move the needle with Liam.

He's of the mind that Hope will never truly be able to move past Emma's death when it comes to her relationship with the man who could have been responsible for her death and who did lie to them for months about their daughter. Hope reminded him that they both moved on, but Liam didn't really look at her when she pushed for him to answer on that fact and, Bold fans, I rolled my eyes. Either Lope are going to be together or they're not, but holding on like this because Steffy told him no is just absolutely ridiculous.

I don't know where the soap is going with this storyline, but I hope it's somewhere satisfactory. Catch y'all tomorrow for our last recap of week. Stay beautiful!
