Yes, professor. Tom Ellis cast as series regular in Tell Me Lies season 2 on Hulu

Lucifer fans, where you at? We have some great news! Our favorite devil himself Tom Ellis is taking on a new project, and that's Tell Me Lies season 2 on Hulu. Yay! This is great news as we haven't seen the actor in a major role since Lucifer came to an end in 2021.

According to Deadline, Ellis has been cast as a series regular so we'll be seeing plenty of the talented star in the show's second season. The actor will play Oliver, a professor at Baird College whose "tough love attitude makes him an intimidating presence that isn't appreciated by all students," the news outlet shares.

Plus, one of the Tell Me Lies' main characters starts to look for his approval, which will lead to "chaotic repercussions." I mean, drama and complicated are definitely two words to describe this series. So, I'm expecting that with the introduction of this new character. Oliver is also married to one of Lucy's professors, Marianne, who we first met in episode 6, "And I'm Sorry If I Dissed You."

We haven't seen Ellis in the role yet, but I already know that he's going to be so charismatic and bring a new element and dimension to the show. I've missed having the Lucifer actor on our screens. It's been too long! Though now, he's definitely staying booked in busy, which we love to see.

While we wait for Tell Me Lies season 2 to arrive, which does not have a release date yet, Ellis has Netflix movie Players starring Gina Rodriguez coming Feb. 14, 2024. His upcoming future projects also include him voicing God instead of the devil in the Netflix animation series Exploding Kittens; Christopher “Titch” Wilde in Washington Black on Hulu; and the series Second Wife which he stars in and executive produces with Emma Roberts.

Meaghan Oppenheimer will be the showrunner of Second Wife, and is currently the showrunner and executive producer on Tell Me Lies. She's also Ellis' wife! It's so cool that the couple gets to work together and collaborate on these projects. Those productions are always special!

The first season of Tell Me Lies came to a dramatic close with us learning that Stephen was actually in the car with Macy when she died, he moved her to the driver seat and deleted his information from her phone so no one would find out he was involved, and Lucy is sucked into this toxic relationship and does things to "protect" him.

Stephen also gets back together with Diana, and Lucy and Stephen see each other after four years at Bree and Evan's wedding - with Stephen showing up engaged to Lucy's best friend Lydia. So much already happens with these characters, what's Oliver going to bring to the dramatic mix?
