It’s been a difficult season for Theo in Transplant Season 3. He tries to make the right decisions, but he goes about things the wrong way at times.

In the latest episode, he needs to deal with a very sensitive subject. The sneak peek gives us a look at the conversation that he needs to have with a patient. He has a duty of care to have this conversation, but he also can’t jump to conversations.

Take a look at the sneak peek for Transplant Season 3, Episode 12 before we break it down.

Theo starts a difficult conversation in Transplant Season 3, Episode 12

It’s not all that clear why the patient came into the hospital in the first place. She comments how she didn’t know she was pregnant, and it sounds like she is dealing with a termination. This is already a sensitive subject, but it gets worse as Theo brings up some bruising he and other members of the staff saw.

The bruising matches something that would be seen with sexual assault. Theo has to tread lightly with this. As much as he wants patients to do the right thing, pushing them when they’re not ready to take action is just going to make them close up and leave. So, he needs to give his patient a choice. I do love how he handles the discussion, making it clear that there is evidence but not jumping to any conclusions.

After all, this is her husband they are dealing with. It looks like she had an idea that this conversation was going to come up. She doesn’t get angry about it. What has happened, and what will she do? This is certainly worth watching the episode just to see how this particular storyline plays out.

Transplant Season 3 airs on Fridays at 8/7c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Peacock.
