Nicole Richie is back! And, this time, life isn't so Simple. Richie stars in the movie Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, a coming-of-age black comedy that opens in theaters Friday, April 12. Written by Chuck Hayward and directed by Wade Allain-Marcus, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead follows Tanya Crandell, a 17-year-old teen who is looking forward to spending summer in Spain with friends. This is Tanya's last big trip before heading to Howard University, so to say she is excited is an understatement! Unfortunately, Tanya's mom ruins her plans when there's a business trip in Thailand she can't miss. Things get even worse for Tanya and her siblings when their assigned babysitter dies. And, instead of calling the police, they decide the best thing to do is to hide the babysitter's body. Yikes!
Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead stars Simone Joy Jones, Ms. Pat, Jermaine Fowler, Nicole Richie, June Squibb, and others. The movie is rated R for language, including raunchy language, teen drug use, and sexual references (but no nudity). Themes of suicide, racism, and police brutality are also featured. This is a remake of the 1991 classic, but it is much more daring than the original. Needless to say, this is not a movie you want to watch with the kiddos!
