When will the Abbott Elementary season 4 crossover air? The producers answer fans' burning question!

Ever since lead actress and creator of Abbott Elementary Quinta Brunson teased at San Diego Comic-Con that a crossover episode is happening and that it's going to "change television as we know it," us fans have been theorizing and definitely will take any teases that she, or the producers can give us.

Of course right now they're not going to reveal what show that crossover is with, though producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker answered one burning question, and that's when will the Abbott Elementary season 4 crossover air? Here's what Schumacker told Entertainment Weekly:

"After [Christmas]. Possibly the first episode back from the holidays... Without giving anything away, we were able to spend some time in the writers' room with some of the creative forces behind the other show that will remain unnamed. And we're all getting on the same page about what this could be on both sides. But the idea is that there will be an Abbott episode, and there will be an episode of the other show that incorporates the Abbott characters."

When it comes to broadcast schedules, new seasons air in the fall and then go on with new episodes until the end of November/December-ish. Then, there's a couple of months off for the holidays before series' usually return in February or March to continue. So February/March 2025 is a rough time frame of when we can probably expect the Abbott Elementary season 4 crossover episode. As a reminder, the fourth season premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

I said this before, but I really think that an Abbot/It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia crossover can happen. And it can definitely work in a way that makes sense! Even though our favorite group of teachers are on ABC and the Sunny gang are on Hulu, both are owned by Disney. Plus, It's Always Sunny's Kaitlin Olson has just started her new show on ABC, High Potential. She's no stranger to the network now! She can pop on over for a crossover easily and bring her co-workers. Right!?

I don't know. This is in my head now and I'm sticking to it. Brunson also previously shared there's a "looming change" in the neighborhood where the school is, and the producers confirmed to EW that change is gentrification. And I guessed that before and was right! So maybe I'm right about this too. It would definitely be cool. Whatever it is, I know that the writers are going to bring us something great. And I absolutely can't wait for this crossover episode, whoever it's with!

Abbott Elementary season 4 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024 on ABC. Stream episodes the next day on Hulu.
