FBI: International has been seeing some character changes in season 3. However, fans are worried about the lack of screen time for the team's beloved hound Tank. Is there a chance we'll see him back on screen soon?

The show has already seen a lot of character turnover for season 3. It began in the premiere as Jamie Kellett (Heida Reed) left the team to take on a new job in Washington D.C. The episode also introduced Amanda Tate (Christina Wolfe), an analyst who joined the team to take Kellett's place.

Having been introduced late in season 2, Damien Powell (Greg Hovanessian) got in hot water beating on a suspect. Instead of being bounced from the team, Forrester arranged for Powell to head back to his old job as an undercover agent rather than a field agent.

Also, the team has seen its support staff expand with an office of techs, not unlike the mothership FBI. That's raised the cast for the season but still leaves out one of the team's most loved members: Tank.

The loyal hound has been a mainstay since the show premiered, not just as the team's mascot. He gets some field work too from hunting the trail of a suspect to even taking down a perp now and then. He's had a few health scares but still has stuck around.

However, Tank hasn't been seen since the season 3 premiere where the team's old headquarters was destroyed in an explosion. He has been said to still be around but off screen so is he coming back?

When will Tank return to FBI: International?

A likely explanation is that with the compressed shooting schedule due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, the production crew hasn't had time to fit Tank in. There could be a storyline change as well, as with their new HQ with a lot more computers, Forrester may not be able to break the rules and have Tank around.

In a bit on various TV show news for TV Line, Matt Webb Mitovich was asked about Tank's presence and had this to say:

"It took some doing, but I fetched you an answer, Anthony: Tank will make a long-awaited cameo in the season finale."

It is a bit sad that Tank can't get more screen time this season, but with so many cast changes and the tighter shooting schedule, it's been harder to work him in. At least this indicates Tank is still around and will appear for the season 3 finale to keep up the fun touch of the loyal dog counted as a member of the team.

FBI: International season 3 airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
