Yes, Jenna Dewan is pregnant but no The Rookie season 6 isn't writing it into the show

This January, The Rookie star Jenna Dewan shared an exciting personal update when she revealed to her fans via social media that she was expecting her third child, her second with fiancé Steve Kazee. In a sweet Instagram video, Dewan showed off her baby bump while relaxing in the bathtub as Kazee played guitar to her and their little one. 

The pair will welcome their little one later this year and Dewan’s pregnancy hasn’t slowed her down one bit, nor has it impacted her role on The Rookie – though it has made things a bit more chaotic for the actress. 

"Third pregnancy while chasing two other kids around definitely makes you a little more tired. I find crawling into bed at 9 p.m. is definitely different this pregnancy,” Dewan told People. But overall, everything's been going well. And it's been wonderful. But I’m without a doubt a little bit more tired.” 

The good news is that she’ll get to take it easy now that filming on The Rookie season 6 is complete, but fans won’t have to worry about Dewan taking a step back from the show. It’s expected that we’ll see Bailey in each of the remaining episodes in the season ahead but fans shouldn’t expect the writers to work Dewan’s pregnancy into the show. 

The Rookie is not writing Jenna Dewan’s pregnancy into the show

While The Rookie has incorporated the real-life pregnancy of its stars into the show in the past, there seem to be no plans to write Jenna Dewan’s pregnancy into the show this season. 

Dewan has praised the costume department on the team for their talents in helping to hide her baby bump with Bailey’s wardrobe. She even posted a video on Instagram showing off their handy work with her LAFD uniform. 

Bailey and John have been talking a lot about the potential of starting a family of their own after walking down the aisle and exchanging I Do’s, so there is a chance the show could choose to write Dewan’s pregnancy into the show via a season 7 storyline or possibly even as a season-ending story via a cliffhanger in the season 6 finale. 

Fans would definitely love to see Bailey and John welcome a child together and the show has laid the foundation for the pair to have a baby, so there is always a chance the show will write Dewan’s pregnancy into the show for next season – after all, there is a chance she might still be expecting when filming begins for season 7 as we don’t know when Dewan’s due date is!
