May is officially underway, and, sadly, May’s arrival means that our favorite broadcast comedies, dramas, and reality series will soon be signing off the air – some for good, some for the summer, and some for the year.
Over the course of the next few weeks, ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC’s primetime series will begin to wrap up their current seasons. Typically, we see finales airing all the way up until the final week of the month, but the vast majority of shows will have ended their seasons before the final week of May with just one finale slated for the closing week of the month.
Most of ABC’s shows will wrap their seasons the first week of May. This includes The Rookie, Will Trent, 911, 911: Nashville, and Grey’s Anatomy. The second week of May will then see NBC’s biggest series signing off via the finales for the One Chicago and Law & Order shows.
Most FOX shows have already signed off for the season, but there are a few that will wrap in the later stretch of May, including Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, and Next Level Chef.
And then there is CBS. As CBS kept its shows off the air during the Winter Olympics, many of its series will not sign off until the latter part of the month, with most of CBS's remaining finales coming the week of May 18. The week will begin with the finales of FBI and CIA on Monday and conclude with the finales of Marshals and Tracker as the week ends on Sunday.
