Seychelle Cordero went out of Deal or No Deal Island season 2 with her head held high. She told us in this exclusive interview that she has no regrets.
We started Deal or No Deal Island season 2, episode 7 at Temple from the previous episode. It was clear from photos of the next episode that CK would make it through. The question then was who she would choose to eliminate. The answer came at the start of the episode, with Seychelle becoming the sixth contestant eliminated.
Dr. Will was the seventh contestant eliminated at the end of the episode. His elimination did come up as Seychelle had a chance to watch the episode and see it all play out.
No regrets on Deal or No Deal Island season 2
Hidden Remote: Your speech was bada*s and you walked off so proud. Are you happy with how you did it now that you’ve had a chance to watch it back?
Seycelle Cordero: I wouldn’t have done it any other way on with knowing everything that happened and everything that's still to come. I wouldn't have done it any other way. I'm not going to sit up there and be a heartfelt b**h, and try to make America, feel sorry for me. No, you shouldn't be. You shouldn't feel sorry for me. I feel great about everything.
HR: Is there anything within the game that you regret doing? Would you have changed something if you could do it again?
SC: Zero regrets, absolutely! Zero regrets because the show is not over yet.
HR: Oooo. Exciting! When it came to the challenges, were there any at all that you enjoyed doing?
SC: No, I didn't like any of them. I really didn't, and I love the water. I remember the swamp one where they pulled us up into, like it looked like the dirtiest New York puddle you have ever seen, and they were just like, “okay, you got to go in here, and find cases.” And I was just like, “what is in this water?” And you know they were just like, “oh, if anything was in it, we cleared it out.”
HR: Let’s go back to the conversation with Luke. You two seemed alright at first, and then all of a sudden, he decided to get rid of you. He said there was a conversation. What was that like for you?
SC: So initially, we were in our tent. It was all of us in one tent, and we had told him, “if you go up, you got to get rid of David.” He's, like, “oh yeah, for sure.” And then I see him Shake David's hand, and I'm just like, well unless they're romantically holding hands on the damn beach, which I doubt.
He comes into our tent and Lete asked him, and he said he shook David’s hand. If he was going to remove anyone, it would be me.. And I looked at him and I was like, “okay, well, you know, you're gonna eat it.” And he did. In a spectacular style. Oh my gosh, I mean, you couldn't really ask for anything to go better in your favor…I loved every single second of it.
HR: You can say you didn’t go out first.
SC: Oh, my God, I keep saying that's the most embarrassing thing in the world. So you can go home and your husband, your wife, your parents, your kids could say, “ you did such a courageous thing going on his show. We're all so proud of you.” That's just embarrassing.
HR: There was also MG. You two seemed to get along, and then you team up with your alliance to get rid of her. What was going through your head as you worked on that?
SC: The thing that shifted for me was how MG felt about David and Parvati. I asked her if she’d ever see herself blindsiding them, and she said “absolutely not.” It would have been phenomenal to get rid of David or Parvati when they’re in the bottom, but if they have anybody that helps anchor them, we have to get rid of them.
HR: MG said you texted her after her elimination aired.
SC: I said, “I’m sorry, my love.” I don’t take it really personally. It was a sick blind side. Watching it on TV and watching her reaction and her not even wanting to hug Will and seeing the tears in her eyes, I’m like “damn.” But whatever. Only one persona wins.
HR: It’s the nature of the game.
SC: Right.
HR: Are you still friends with anyone from the island?
SC: Yeah, I’m cool with Lete, Philip, Will. I’m cool with MG. I’m cool with La Shell. I’m cool with Storm.
HR: That core group, mostly.
SC: Right.
HR: How did you decide on that alliance going in?
SC: Well, I chose the people in my tent because it gave us the better opportunity to be able to have conversations away from other people. I really liked Lete because she’s really confident. She’s a woman that stands in who she is, and I really love that. So, she was someone that I definitely felt like I could trust. Phillip was cool as hell.
As for La Shell, she’s a Black woman and I have a lot of respect for her. She was cool as f**k. There are so many times where we really didn’t seem like we were talking, but we really cut it up in her tent. We could be ourselves. I loved those moments in the show.
HR: I said when it came to the choice of you, Dickson, and La Shell that CK was always going to pick between you and Dickson. Nobody seems to have beef with La Shell.
SC: Everybody loved her on the show. When people were in crisis, they’d need to talk to her and she’d make it better.
HR: At this point in the game, who did you want to win?
SC: Lete or Phillip. Nothing against Will, at all. I believe he had a solid chance, but I wanted to see someone who’s never won something before win something.
HR: What were your thoughts on watching Lete trust David to eliminate Dickson rather than Will?
SC: You know what’s crazy? Even though we talk, I had no idea that happened until watching. I felt it was a little silly. I’m not gonna to too blood on my girl, but it was silly.
HR: If you could go on any other reality show now, which won would it be?
SC: The Traitors. I would love to be on The Traitors so much. I’m not a delusional person. I’m completely a realist. I know I would eat down on that show. They don’t censor a lot, so I could go blood and they’d keep it in.
