Strictly Come Dancing didn't hold back with Icons Week! Although that particular theme has proven to be divisive in previous years, this year's edition produced some really smashing routines. Tabby and Mark impressed with a Raye-inspired Samba, Lacey and Vito brought the emotions with an Adele-themed American Smooth, and Cach and Maddie offered up Frank Sinatra class with their New York Foxtrot. However, it was Jaime and Carlos who impressed most, with their David Bowie-inspired Paso Doble that brought the house down.
Yes, it was a thrilling example of styles meeting substance with themes and dances that went well together, setting the couples up for success (for the most part). But there is a collection of couples in danger due to the ties on the Leaderboard, and that will certainly create a very interesting Dance-Off.
With that in mind, here's an early preview of Strictly's Results Show, giving you everything you need to know - from start time to what to actually expect from the Dance-Off.
Strictly Week 4's Results Show is in a familiar timeslot
Strictly Come Dancing Week 4's Results Show will air tonight, Sunday October 18, on BBC One at 7:10 p.m. BST (while also being available to stream on BBC iPlayer). That probably won't come as a surprise to you if you're a longtime fan as the Results Show is a regular of this timeslot, having made its presence felt at this time on Sundays for years now.
The episode will have a runtime of 50 minutes, finishing at 8:00 p.m. BST. As always, it has been prerecorded in advance and edited for broadcast, so it absolutely will not run over time (as it is not live). After that, a new episode of Antiques Roadshow will air as usual, rounding out your perfect Sunday night on BBC One.
What you can expect from this week's Results Show and the Dance-Off
It wouldn't be Icons Week without performances celebrating two of the biggest icons that the music industry has ever seen. That's right; this week's Strictly will feature a special number in which the professionals pay tribute to the legendary Madonna and her incredible catalog of hits. We will also see a beautiful tribute to the late, great Dolly Parton, which will undoubtedly be an emotional one.
Of course, the main event of the Results Show will be, well, the results. Which couples will end up in the Dance Off and who will sail through to Week 5? It's always a tense question that leads to an even more tense results show, but tonight's might be even more intense than that. Why? Well, because the judges' leaderboard is unexpectedly tight, with two couples tied at the top with 34 (Jaime and Carlos and Cach and Maddie), three people tied in the middle with 29 (Tabby and Mark, Lacey and Vito, and John and Katya) and two just below them on 28 (Shaun and Alexis and Graeme and Lauren).
Ties bring the couples at the bottom of the Leaderboard closer to those at the top in terms of overall points, making it much easier for a popular couple to escape the Dace Off should they find themselves on the lower end. It also puts those closer to the top - specifically those nestled in the middle - in danger of falling into the Dance-Off.
Due to their positions at the bottom of the Leaderboard, it seems that Dame Sarah Storey and Julian, Dani Dyer and Nikita, and Bethany Antonia and Nancy, along with one from the 28 tie (Shaun and Alexis, and Graeme and Lauren) are the couples in the most vulnerable positions right now. We'll have to wait and see if the public vote turns all of that on its head or not, but right now, that is how it looks. Then again, that tight Leaderboard could result in a completely different result.
We don't have to wait too long to find out!
