The latest episode of SWAT season 8 saw the team tackling a kidnapping case after a little girl went missing in front of her house. With very few leads to go on, one team member risked everything to find the girl before it was too late.

After a little girl named Gracie went missing, the team searched for her with the only lead to go on being a white vehicle with partial plates. In ruling out three vehicles, the team discovered one belonged to a man who appeared to be out of town. However, his neighbor Steve Owens appeared to give Zoe weird vibes as he answered questions she and Deacon had.

Her gut told her something was off and she convinced Deacon to question him further. Zoe thought she heard a child whimpering, but it was a dog. She did find food items that were the same kinds of food Gracie liked to eat.

Even though it was circumstantial, Zoe felt it in her heart that he was involved. Things only grew more tense when Annie, Deacon’s wife, turned out to be his defense attorney. Despite this, the team began to figure out what they could use from Owens’s house as a lead.

How did the team find the little girl on SWAT?

Zoe remembered seeing photographs of a farm and they were able to find the exact one, which was taken by a photographer named Denton Pryor. The name was familiar as his logo was on the back of Gracie’s school picture.

Pryor and Owens knew each other, which gave them the chance to bring Owens back for questioning. Unfortunately, he disappeared, but Zoe and Tan went to the farmhouse, thinking they might find Gracie there.

Luckily, they found Gracie alive and as Tan went to radio for backup, Pryor showed up with a gun. Zoe was able to find him off and rescue Gracie to reunite her with her mother.

The episode also saw the Deputy Chief looking into whether Devin Gamble tipped off her relatives about a SWAT raid that was occurring. Despite her insistence that she was innocent, Gamble was still benched, despite Hondo’s insistence that she did nothing wrong. Commander Hicks believes Chief Bennett is doing this to find a reason to cut him loose.

No matter what the motive is, it does stink that Gamble has to deal with all of this when she just wants to prove herself. Hopefully she will make it through this investigation in tact.

The next episode, “Deep Cover,” looks like it will be a fun one that focuses on Alfaro and we’re excited to see the return of Squad 50’s Sergeant Donovan Rocker (Lou Ferrigno Jr.).
