It was the week before hometowns this week on The Bachelor! Ever since ABC cut some of the weeks before hometowns (Hometowns used to be Episode 8) these seasons just fly by and it doesn’t seem like we have enough time to really get to know the contestants.

This week,Grant Ellis and his group of women traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland. We had two romantic one-on-ones and a not-so-romantic group date. No roses were given on the dates, so we had to wait until the very end of the episode to know who would be sent home. The suspense!

So who did Grant send home on episode 5 of The Bachelor?

Carolina

I was actually rooting for Carolina this season. Not necessarily rooting for her to end up with Grant, but I was generally on her side in terms of all the in-house drama.

It just got to the point where she couldn’t say anything right. If she was worried about her connection, she was being too negative. If she tried to stay positive and say the night went okay, she wasn’t being real enough. Can’t win!

Given all of that, I am sort of glad Carolina went home. This environment was obviously hurting her! Although, going forward, the women will live separately anyway, so she probably would’ve been fine.

Alexe

I can’t believe Alexe went home! Her one-on-one date at the mall seemed to go so well, but we haven’t seen a lot of progression since then.

Sarafiena

I wasn’t very surprised to see Sarafiena go home, even though I was assuming it would be Zoe since she hasn’t had a one-on-one yet. Zoe is pretty good TV, I will say.

Going to Hometowns next week are Latia, Juliana, Dina, and Zoe. I’m looking forward to actually getting to know these women a bit more!

The Bachelor airs on Mondays at 8/7c on ABC. Catch up the following day on Hulu.
