It’s finally here! Monday night gave us the finale of The Bachelor Season 29. Grant Ellis was down to his final two ladies: Litia and Julianna.

Some of this season was a bit of a slog, but this finale really delivered! It was one of the most “dramatic” eliminations we’ve seen in quite some time.

The episode picks up with Grant introducing his final two to his family in the D.R. Grant’s family was just wonderful. His father-son chat was so moving; it was the most emotion we’ve seen from Grant all season!

Grant said this was the first time his parents had been in the same room in a decade? This is where The Bachelor really shines: creating moments that the families otherwise wouldn’t have had. His family approves of both Litia and Julianna. No big surprise there!

So, who did Grant send home on the finale of The Bachelor Season 29?

Litia

I think 99% of the audience was shocked by this. A hush fell over the live audience when Litia stepped out of the limo first– you could hear a pin drop!

Grant explains that although he “has love for her,” he’s not Litia’s person.

It’s clear by the look on Litia’s face she really got the rug pulled out from under her. She is rightfully angry, and tells Grant she views him differently now.

I’ve always wondered why more final two contestants don’t show anger at the lead for massively leading them on. I can only assume it’s the cameras on them that makes them stifle their rage!

In any case, I was so glad Litia called Grant out for everything he said. She says that even the night before he said he couldn’t wait to get engaged to her.

Oh, Grant. He’s probably not a bad guy, but this show really chewed him up and spit him out. He was (overly) willing to go along with the process and seemed to get swept away without regard for the feelings of others.

Breaking down The Bachelor: After the Final Rose

Litia gets her After the Final Rose time to talk to Grant, but doesn’t really get any answers. Thankfully, she seems fairly moved on from it all!

Sweet Julianna and Grant then take the stage, and look very happy. They do seem to really get each other and she seems pretty difficult to upset, from what we’ve seen!

Well, that’s that. Best wishes to the happy couple, and here’s looking forward to Bachelor in Paradise!
