Well, The Celebrity Traitors is back! The long-awaited, heavily-anticipated sophomore outing of the iconic reality gaming show has finally premiered on BBC One and iPlayer and its premiere has not disappointed. Claudia Winkleman - as she always does - delivers a captivating performance as host and the star-studded roundtable didn't disappoint either.
This series features a remarkably recognizable line-up, including legendary film star Richard E. Grant, EastEnders legend Ross Kemp, Coronation Street icon Julie Hesmondhalgh, legendary singer James Blunt, The Last of Us' Bella Ramsey, musician and Heartstopper star Sebastian Croft, host Maya Jama, and model and Batman star Jerry Hall. So, The Celebrity Traitors releases two episodes per week (one on Thursday and one on Friday) while the standard edition of The Traitors releases three per week.
While BBC's release schedule for The Traitors franchise is unorthodox to say the least, it's clearly a massive success for the channel. Both the previous series of The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors set viewing figure records for the respective shows, drawing some of the biggest live audiences for any terrestrial channels in the UK for their respective years.
This series of The Celebrity Traitors premiered with 8.9 million viewers in the UK, setting a franchise record as the most-watched premiere of both series. Needless to say that fans are invested in the series and can't wait to see what comes next. And after Richard E. Grant already went viral for the series 2 premiere, you can bet that fans are ready for the viral memes, the outrageous tasks, and the memorable moments that the rest of the series will have in store for us all.
It's just going to take a little longer for episode 3 to arrive than you probably thought.
