The summer is in full swing. Now as people settle down and are looking to what will be coming next fall, they also might want to look back at other shows that they may have missed.

One show that has been steady in the ratings but may not have been watched all the way through is on its way to a second season. The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins was a surprise midseason show but did well enough to secure another year.

During the summer, this is the perfect show to rewatch for the days that may be too warm. The series starring Tracy Morgan is about a disgraced football star trying to capture his prominence. He decides to hire Daniel Ratcliffe to create a documentary about his life.

There a few observations after watching the first three episodes of the series.

1. There is charm from both Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan.

The two main characters bring out the best out of each other. They have great chemistry, and both have their own style of humor, which is on full display. Tracy Morgan has a very boisterous way of doing comedy, which works for him. Ratcliffe, on the other hand, uses a nerdy British style of humor that shines through.

2. The series uses Bobby Moynihan just the right amount

The SNL alumni plays Morgan's former teammate and hanger-on, Rusty Boyd. The character actor brings about his own charm, but they write him perfectly and don't overuse the archetype too much. Moynihan's one-liners should be something to look forward to for next season.

3. The show has a surprising amount of heart

Through the rewatch of three episodes, a surprising element is the heart of the characters. Despite being a comedy, it gives the character chances for actual growth and a bit of value in the first three episodes.

The most prime example is the titular character's fiancee, Brina, played by Precious Way. The actress could have had the character be typical, but in the first three episodes, the audience can clearly see the love she has for Reggie. It is a nice change from the stereotype.

The rewatch should be enjoyable based off the first three episodes. The series is perfect for football fans who are looking for something small to get them in the mode for the fall. It is also a fun show for anyone who is looking for an underdog kind of comedy.
