Since premiering on NBC last winter, crime drama series The Hunting Party has become an underdog hit for the network, especially after the first season landed on Netflix this year. There have been even more eyeballs on the series starring Manifest star Melissa Roxburgh, and fans are still hoping that NBC will deliver some good news about a renewal.
There's some bummer news to share for The Hunting Party fans tonight, though. Bex won't be taking on her latest case again this week as NBC has pulled its Thursday night lineup from the schedule. The series had been airing uninterrupted new episodes since the season 2 premiere in January, but that momentum came to a halt after the March 12 airing thanks to baseball.
The Hunting Party isn't new on Thursday, March 26, 2026
After being off the air last week, The Hunting Party still isn't back with a new episode on Thursday, March 26. In fact, the series isn't airing at all — not even a rerun. The entire Thursday night lineup on NBC, which also includes Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, has been preempted in favor of Major League Baseball taking over the night.
Beginning at 8 p.m. ET, the MLB baseball game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers takes place during the timeslots that belong to NBC's Thursday night scripted dramas. Thankfully, fans don't have to worry about the two-week break extending for another week, as NBC has The Hunting Party scheduled to return on Thursday, April 2 with a special guest.
Yes, The Hunting Party season 2 returns on Thursday, April 2 at 10/9c on NBC with the episode 8, which is titled "Elliot Carr." As revealed in the promotional trailer for the episode, Roxburgh's former on-screen brother and Manifest costar Josh Dallas guest stars as the episode's titular serial killer Elliot Carr, a shoemaker whose practice has taken an intense turn for the scary. What a twist!
Check out the episode's official synopsis, as shared in the trailer's description: "Bex and the team hurry to catch Elliot Carr, a high-end shoemaker and serial killer known as the Connecticut Cobbler; Elliot has a fresh approach that the team must figure out before more people find themselves flayed." You read that correctly: The Connecticut Cobbler is turning his victims into shoes.
It's sure to be quite the departure for Dallas, as his fans have come to know him as the heroic Prince Charming in Once Upon a Time and the equally heroic Ben Stone in Manifest. But since this will be the actor's first new television role since Manifest ended its four-season run on Netflix back in 2024, it will be very exciting to not only see him back on our screens but reuniting with Roxburgh.
Following Dallas' appearance in season 2 episode 8, The Hunting Party will continue with its 13-episode second season through spring. NBC currently has the season 2 finale scheduled to air on May 7, and hopefully around that time (or even before), we will already know whether season 3 is happening. Keep checking for the latest updates, and don't miss the show's return on April 2!
