The Masked Singer isn't on tonight, but there is a new episode this week

Wednesday nights are all about our favorite singing competition series. Sadly, there isn’t a new episode of The Masked Singer on tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 27. FOX is opting for something odd this week.

The lack of episode is a scheduling choice made by FOX. You see; there will still be a new episode this week, but not on the usual night. FOX looks to be trying something out with the holiday. Whether it will work or not is unclear. It is a risky choice.

The Masked Singer season 12 will air on Thanksgiving

We’re used to new episodes on Wednesday nights. Thursdays are always reserved for our favorite cooking programs. FOX is trying something different this week, though. We’re going to get a new episode of The Masked Singer on Thursday, Nov. 28.

Yes, that is Thanksgiving! This is why I say it’s a questionable and risky decision. The last time I saw a network attempt an airing of a new episode on Thanksgiving was about six years ago when The CW aired an episode of Supernatural. It saw the linear ratings drop in half because people are spending time with their family on Thanksgiving night.

The Masked Singer is a little more family friendly than Supernatural. Maybe FOX has something here, but it’s still a huge risk. Not only is it Thanksgiving, but it’s airing an episode on a different night. When people see that it’s not airing on Wednesday, they’ll likely expect it to air the next week instead.

What will happen in The Masked Singer on Thursday?

The episode will air at8 p.m. ET/PT on Thanksgiving Night. This is the Group C finals, which means that two people could end up going home. We saw with the Group A finals that two contestants were unmasked. When it came to Group B, Jenny rang the bell to save one of the contestants. What will happen with the Group C finals?

The episode is a Thanksgiving-themed episode, which I still think should air on Wednesday instead. Rita Ora and Robin Thicke will take to the stage to since “You Make My Dreams Come True” and the entire Peanut gang will take to the stage. After all, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving remains to be a family favorite this time of year.

There will be some Thanksgiving clues and all the songs have a holiday feel to them. Get ready for the last of the Group C performances.

The Masked Singer will air on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 8/7c on FOX.
