The Masked Singer season 12 has a Thanksgiving episode airing tonight!
Thanksgiving is about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, football, turkey dinner, and spending time with family. Well, it’s also about The Masked Singer this year, 2024.
Yes, FOX opted not to air a new episode last night, Wednesday, Nov. 27. Instead, we’ll get a new episode tonight, Thursday, Nov. 28. It is an odd decision, and it’s certainly risky for the network.
There are a couple of things working against FOX tonight. The first is that it’s Thanksgiving. About six years ago, I remember The CW putting a new episode of Supernatural on Thanksgiving Night and it was a mistake. The linear ratings dropped by half because people weren’t there to watch the show live—people are doing other things with family.
Another risky part is that fans are used to tuning into The Masked Singer on Wednesdays. FOX could have put this episode on last night and still had the Thanksgiving theme. I think we’ll see a drop in the linear ratings.
It’s Peanuts Night on The Masked Singer season 12, episode 9
Well, let’s take a look at the episode. The Masked Singer season 12, episode 9 is the Group C finals. That means two people could end up going home. In the Group B finals, we did see Jenny use the bell to save one from going home, but both contestants went home in the Group A finals.
Thanksgiving is a time to rewatch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, so it’s not surprising to hear that the theme of the night is Peanuts. We will see the Peanuts characters take to the stage—and the panelist section—to mark the night.
There will be a special performance by Rita Ora and Robin Thicke, and we’ll see the Group C performers sing some holiday-themed tunes. Are you ready for a special night?
The Masked Singer will air tonight, Thursday, Nov. 28 at 8/7c on FOX.
After this, the series is moving back to Wednesdays.
