If you’re a fan of Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw and Tracker, you will be ecstatic. CBS revealed some early renewals for just a small handful of its primetime programming and Tracker was among those that was met with a season 3 renewal.

Tracker follows Colter Shaw, a survivalist who works on his own to aid in various criminal cases. The show also delves into his mysterious background about his family, including his dad who died under mysterious circumstances after leaving their home in the woods.

The renewal news comes after the show returned from its winter midseason hiatus. In the episode “The Disciple,” a long-time case that Shaw had been trying to solve finally reached its conclusion.

Season 3 of Tracker has been confirmed at CBS

He had been haunted by a decade’s old case, in which a girl named Gina Pickett disappeared, never to be seen again. Colter had a suspect in a man named Frank Whales, played by actor Ryan Dorsey.

The episode also saw him conclude his fling with Gina’s sister, Camille, and he also got to say goodbye to retired officer Keaton, played by Brent Sexton, who he had worked with on the case. They left the door open for Shaw to possibly work with him again.

Now that there is a renewal, it is always possible they might pick up the mini arcs Shaw had with these characters, despite their only connection being the case involving Gina. Since that arc has concluded, though, we’re sure to see more of Shaw as he goes back to solving other cases around the country.

Tracker is one of the most popular shows on CBS, bringing in an average of 18 million viewers over multiple platforms. This is an impressive feat and shows why the series got an early pickup. With a format of following different cases a week along with a family mystery, this show has given viewers plenty of enjoyment over the last two seasons.

Since confirmation of season 3 is here, this will also give the story involving his family room to breathe as we learn more about his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles) and sister Dory, played by Melissa Roxburgh, and what happened to their father. We’re also excited to see more of Colter’s trusted team who help him with the cases he receives.

Tracker airs Sundays at 8/7c with previous episodes available on Paramount+.

We will keep you updated on Hidden Remote as we learn more about what to expect as Tracker moves forward on CBS.
