Another Wednesday night is here, and you know what that means. There’s more TV shows on the broadcast networks tonight, Wednesday, April 16.

Tonight sees the premiere of a new series on The CW, and it looks perfect for fans of the Sherlock Holmes stories, period dramas, and crime dramas. Meanwhile, the other networks continue their regular programming.

4 shows to watch and 1 to skip tonight, Wednesday, April 16

Start the night off with The Masked Singer, as we get the first performances from the Lucky Six. Yes, the group stages are over, and now the two finalists from each group will sing off against each other. As usual, one of the celebrities will go home, and that means we get to find out who is under the mask.

After that, you’ll want to turn to The CW, and this series isn't to be confused with CBS's Watson. The new series Sherlock & Daughter will premiere tonight, and the series already looks intriguing. It follows Blu Hunt as Amelia Rojas, an American who is in London to find the man she believes is her father, Sherlock Holmes (David Thewlis). Of course, Sherlock doesn’t believe that she is his daughter, but he’s not just going to overlook a mystery. She wants to solve the murder of her mother, and he will teach her his ways to do that.

The One Chicago franchise is back tonight, and you’ll want to turn your attention to Chicago PD to end the night. Deputy Chief Reid is back to cause a problem when a car that contains far too much in drugs is stolen. Chapman will team up with Voight to find a way to deal with Reid, but things are sure to get worse before they get better.

Make sure you put Chicago Fire on record, so you can turn your attention to that when the normal hours of primetime are over. This episode sees the return of Boden, as he tries to get to the bottom of a tragedy. The episode is told through stories of the firefighters looking back at events, giving us different perspectives of the call.

What about shows to skip? Of course, we mean to watch the following day on streaming. One that isn’t too much of a risk right now is Abbott Elementary. The series is a lot of fun, but it’s already been renewed. We want to put the focus on shows that haven’t been renewed at this point in the schedule, so hold back on the ABC comedy block.
