Thursday night is going to look a little different to what we’re used to. Take a look at everything airing across the broadcast networks tonight, Thursday, April 17.
This Thursday sees changes to the CBS and NBC schedules. The other schedules are pretty much as normal, but there are some big episodes airing for some shows that you won’t want to miss.
With so much, it can be difficult to decide what you want to watch live and what’s best to watch the following day. This week is going to be even harder, but we’re here to help.
5 shows to watch and 2 to skip tonight, Thursday, April 17
I’d start by turning your attention to NBC. It’s the big crossover event between Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. This episode takes us back to earlier in the Law & Order: SVU story, with Olivia Benson realizing that she knows the victim, a child she helped rescue years earlier. Now she is out for justice when something happens to that child who has now grown up.
It’s going to take both teams to get to the bottom of this heinous crime. You’ll want to stay with NBC for the first two hours of the night.
If you can then switch to CBS and rewind the programming, then do that. You need to turn your attention to the Matlock season 1 finale, which is a two-hour event starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT. If your cable channel doesn’t offer the ability to do playback, make sure you’re recording the episode and start it as soon as it finishes. It’s going to be worth staying up for, as it looks like Matty will finally get answers about the Wellbrexa situation.
You’ll want to record Doctor Odyssey so that you can watch that tonight, Thursday, April 17. This show remains on the bubble with ABC, and it’s an episode that sees Max take a trip home to face some family drama. Meanwhile, Avery and Tristan will need to deal with a parasitic infection, personal drama, and much more while on the open seas.
What about the fifth show to watch? If you still have time and you’re happy to stay up, Ghosts is the series to watch! While it has been renewed, there’s no doubt that we’re excited for the new episode, which sees Trevor learn that he has a daughter. Or does he?
What about the shows to skip? Well, let’s face it, while it is the Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5 premiere, you don’t need to watch it live on NBC. The episode (along with the second episode of the season) will drop on Peacock earlier that day, so you can watch as soon as you want!
Then there’s Grey’s Anatomy, which has already been renewed. This is one to watch the next day to see what type of drama a window washer flying through the glass windows of Grey Sloan Memorial will cause.
