Christmas Eve is that night that we would all love to get an early night, but it’s impossible. The kids are too excited for Santa, and that means parents are up late waiting for them to go to bed. So, you’ll want to know what’s on the TV schedule tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 24.
The good news is broadcast TV networks still have something to watch throughout the night. Now you’ll just need to decide whether you want a rerun, a Christmas movie, or a game show.
The Price Is Right at Night, It’s a Wonderful Life, and more
Sadly, it’s not Die Hard (yes, it is a Christmas movie) but there is a great Christmas movie airing on NBC tonight. It’s a Wonderful Life gets another primetime slot, and tonight is the perfect night for it. After all, the story takes place on Christmas Eve. This is one of those movies you could watch with the older kids as they start to appreciate more of the meaning within the movies.
If you’re looking for more of a comedic movie to watch, and you do want to watch something with the kids, then it’s going to be all about Home Alone over on ABC. This is the first movie where Kevin is left actually at home rather than ends up in New York City. We see how he copes alone—and a reminder of how cheap groceries were back then—a look at not to judge a man by his looks, and how some people really shouldn’t be parents!
CBS has a new episode of The Price Is Right at Night. The current schedule on TV Guide does say that the night will start with Christmas with Andrea Bocelli and Friends: A Grammy Holiday Special, but over on the Paramount Press Express, the schedule says that we’ll get two hours of The Price Is Right at Night. I highly recommend checking your listings as it could be different depending on location.
FOX has a rerun of the first two LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular event. This was a lot of fun as celebrities teamed up with LEGO Master favorites to prove that they could make the best holiday houses filled with traps and a replacement for the reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh.
