With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, it means a lot of broadcast networks are taking a break. That’s not the case for everyone just yet. There’s still plenty to watch on TV tonight, Monday, Dec. 16.

Granted, this is the last week of normal TV for the majority of TV shows. We’ll get a chance to watch the winter finales on CBS for a few shows throughout the week, and tonight is packed from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Other networks are taking breaks from most of the regular schedule.

NCIS: Origins, Monday Night Football, and more

ABC still has a normal night, but that’s because it airs Monday Night Football. We are coming to the end of the regular season, though. It won’t be long before ABC puts on regular content on Mondays again. That’s not tonight, though. The Chicago Bears will head to Minnesota to take on the Vikings tonight.

Over on CBS, there’s a night of comedy and drama. It’s the usual CBS lineup, with winter finales for all the shows. NCIS: Origins is going to bring us the story of Gibbs’s first Christmas without his wife and daughter. They were murdered, and now Gibbs has to figure out life without them. We know how it plays out in the flagship series, but this is a chance to see the highs and lows as he figures out his life and what he’s meant to do now that they’re gone.

If you love country music, then you’ll want to turn to NBC tonight. Little Big Town’s Christmas at the Opry is airing throughout the night. Little Big Town will host the event, bringing some of the biggest stars in country to the stage.

For those more interested in a Christmas movie, The CW is the place to be. Operation Mistletoe gets another airing. When Ryan comes to town, Grace’s friend decides that she needs to get the two of them together. It means “Operation Mistletoe” is in effect. How will it all end? Will Grace and Ryan end up together, or are eyes on someone else?
