It may be Good Friday, but the broadcast networks will still bring new episodes of top TV shows tonight, Friday, April 18. Make sure you don’t miss a beat.
The majority of the networks have their usual programming. The only slight change is The CW, which starts off with a rerun of shows tonight. This isn’t that surprising considering it is technically a holiday weekend for a lot of people — The CW was burned a few years back by putting new episodes of shows on a holiday weekend.
4 shows to watch and 1 to skip tonight, Friday, April 18
Fridays are a little easier to manage since there are few scripted shows that air anyway. What I will say is that other shows are worth checking out, but you can usually do so via streaming networks the following day.
What you need to check out right away is the new episode of Grosse Pointe Garden Society, as the series remains on the bubble but it’s too good to be canceled. We have all wondered about the fight we learned that happened at the gala, but the show has moved onto other topics. Well, all that is changing with the latest episode.
After that, turn your attention to CBS, where a new episode of Fire Country will air. The house fire seems like it’s a routine situation, but it is anything but. With lives on the line, Station 42 and Third Rock will need to risk it all to keep each other safe.
Stick with CBS after that to make sure SWAT goes out with a bang. The team will tackle a sex trafficking ring in the new episode, and it looks like they’ll need the help of one of the girls to be able to prove it and put a stop to it.
As it’s Friday night, you can probably get away with staying up for another hour. Why not check out the new episode of NCIS: Sydney? Put it on record, so you can turn straight to it. Sure, it’s already been renewed, but it means you can end the night with an entertaining and sunny crime drama! The episode brings focus to the way the American and Australian troops train together, while the NCIS team handles a murder investigation.
What is there to skip until the next day? Well, 20/20 and Dateline are certainly the common options, but Shark Tank is one to wait until the following day for it to head to Hulu. Some of the business ideas seem a little head-scratching to be honest, but it’s going to make for some light watching on Saturday morning.
