It’s been a long winter break, but it’s over for a lot of the networks. It’s time to look at what’s on TV tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 7.
A lot of the networks are returning to their normal schedules. Those that aren’t just yet don’t have too long to go because they are back to normal. We’ll get most of our favorite shows back or new on the air by the end of this month.
Of course, you need to know what is airing new and what’s on a rerun. This is the best way to decide what you’re watching live and what’s getting recorded for later. It’s not going to be easy to choose tonight.
Will Trent, The Irrational, and more
We start with the ABC lineup, which is starting off strong with the Will Trent season 3 premiere. At the end of the second season, Will chose the law over his love for Angie and had to arrest her. The third season premiere will pick up a year later. Will has been MIA for six months, but he’s called back to the job by a perp. Meanwhile, Angie wants her job back, but can she prove that she should be given that chance?
Stick around throughout the night on ABC. High Potential returns off its winter break and The Rookie season 7 premieres. It’s a night of crime dramedy!
Meanwhile, NBC gets some of its Tuesday schedule back to normal. The two comedy shows won’t return tonight, but that’s because there is a two-hour special of Deal or No Deal Island. Next Tuesday, that show will move to just the 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, allowing for the comedies to kick off the night.
The night will end with a new episode of The Irrational. The fall finale didn’t end with too much of a cliffhanger, but that doesn’t mean nothing exciting will happen in the new episode. A medical emergency sidelines Alec, which means Marisa and Rose will need to work together to save an acclaimed tennis player who has gone missing. They usually say not to let the ex and the current meet, but what about work together on a case?
Still don’t feel like you’re getting what you want to watch? How about a new medical drama? Doc will premiere on FOX tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 7. The series follows a doctor who is involved in a car accident that causes brain damage. She loses her current memories, which means she has to learn some devastating news and meet people all over again.
