It’s New Year’s Day! This is a chance to nurse the hangover and get ready for an exciting year of things to come. Maybe you just want a quiet evening after the festivities of the holiday season, so you need something calming to watch on broadcast TV tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 1.

The great news is there is something for everyone. There are runs, holiday specials, and more airing tonight across the Big 5 networks. Many of them are now getting ready for the return of our favorite shows, as well!

NCIS: Origins rerun, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and more

The new year always starts with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and that’s no different in 2025. We’ll get to see the special guests gathering to honor the inductees for 2024, who include Mary J. Blige and Dionne Warwick. This is not an event to miss if you love music and the stars that have come along.

If you want your favorite dramas, you’ll need to turn to CBS and NBC. Both of them will have reruns on tonight. For NBC, it’s all about the usual Wednesday night dramas as we get ready for our favorite shows to return next week. Yes, the One Chicago shows take over tonight with reruns of the second episodes of the current seasons of each show.

Over on CBS, there are reruns of NCIS: Origins, which is perfect for those who haven’t caught up on the series just yet. We’re jumping back into episodes 4, 5, and 6 of the first season. This show won’t return with new episodes until the end of January, so you do have plenty of time to catch up if you need it.

What if you want something fun and also for charity? You’ll need to turn to FOX for tonight’s rerun of The Real Full Monty. Anthony Anderson got a bunch of celebrity men to agree to do the Full Monty, and we get to relive it all!
