There is still a lot that we’re learning about John Watson. Some of his past will come up in Watson season 1, episode 11.

There are just three episodes left of the first season. The good news is this series has already been renewed, and now we’re just waiting to find out when it will arrive in the 2025–2026 TV season. But it means there’s no need to worry about a cliffhanger at the end of the season.

Watson revisits his Army past in Watson season 1, episode 11

The episode will see the wife of a former soldier turn to John Watson for help. If you know your Sherlock Holmes mythology enough, you’ll rember that Dr. John Watson was in the military. In the original stories, he was a surgeon in the British Army when the British went to war in Afghanistan in the 1870s. He was severely wounded, and then he was discharged.

Well, it’s time to see what this modern-day retelling of the story will bring us. We get from the synopsis of the new episode that Watson was in the military, and he likely saw combat. However, with everything else that he has been through, what he saw in the war was likely just a blip compared to so much more now.

For others, it’s not just a blip. A wife turns to Watson when her husband is suffering from far more than traditional PTSD. He is having hallucinations, and now it’s up to John and the team to get to the bottom of why he’s having these hallucinations.

And yes, the promo suggests that Moriarty is allowed in the clinic. Watson has figured out that Moriarty is alive, but he doesn’t seem to have worked out that Shinwell is involved in some of the tampering and working with Moriarty. That’s sure to change in the new episode, especially as Moriarty is sure to figure out that Shinwell gave fake DNA samples.

Check out the promo and synopsis for Watson season 1, episode 11:

"Watson confronts a traumatic event from his Army days that still weighs heavily on him after his friend's wife reaches out begging for help when her husband is seemingly having a psychotic break; Shinwell is asked for one last favor by Moriarty."

Watson airs on Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
