More from Hidden Remote

On a new episode of The Shocking Truth, detectives and more go into what might have happened to Helle Craft from the “wood chipper murder.” The “Wood Chipper murder” was the inspiration for the movie Fargo, but what is the true story behind it all? What happened in real life that brought the idea for the popular film?

"Helle Crafts went missing from her home in Newtown, Connecticut and was never seen again. The court ruled that her husband killed her and disposed of her body using a wood chipper. The Coen Brothers heard that twisted story and used the “Wood Chipper Murder” as inspiration for their 1996 Oscar® wining movieFargo."

The episode follows the story of the victim, as well as those around them. In our exclusive clip below, we see what happens when Helle’s nanny comes across what looks like a blood stain on the carpet. Even though the notion is quickly denied by a member of the household, what could leave a stain so close to blood?

Actors such as Frances McDormand, Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare and directors Joel and Ethan Coen explain the real-life story of what we know involving the murder from so long ago. Watch the episode on June 16 on REELZ.

"The Shocking Truth digs deep into notorious real-life murders and crimes and explores how Hollywood turned them into its most memorable thrillers. The behind-the-scenes stories of how these gruesome events became unforgettable movies is as fascinating as the true crimes themselves. Through cinematic re-enactments and exclusive interviews with the writers, directors and cast members, as well as the detectives, attorneys, and criminologists who investigated the actual crimes, we lay out a compelling story line — how despicable wrong doings became art, creating moments etched in our pop culture."
