This Is Us season 2 can’t come fast enough. Here are 7 questions we want answered ASAP this fall.

All this Emmy campaigning — shout out Chrissy Metz, shout out Sterling K. Brown, shout out everyone — has us super nostalgic about season 1 and super excited about This Is Us season 2. (Luckily, we have enough time to watch the first season again before September.)

In particular, it has us reminiscing about last season and the cliffhangers and questions we’re still thinking about. Spoilers for season 1 ahead!

Will Jack and Rebecca reconcile?

Watching Jack and Rebecca (kind of?) break up during the finale was brutal. Despite the expectation/fear that we’d see Jack’s death in the last episode, we were left instead with what looks like separation for everyone’s favorite parents. Jack is on his way to stay with Miguel and it feels like we’re in the same timeline as his death, so much mystery remains as to the order of things and what kind of terms Jack and Rebecca are on when he dies.

Will Kevin take the West Coast movie role?

The finale saw Kevin rededicated himself to ex-wife / current girlfriend Sophie — quick sidebar question: Will we learn more about their love story? — and promptly receive an offer to audition for a Ron Howard movie. Last we saw, he was headed West to meet with Howard, but there’s still time for him to reconsider his ultimate decision.

Will Beth and Randall adopt?

Fogelman has said that he thinks Randall’s focus will be on adoption over season 2, but adoption is a complicated and often exhaustive process. (Not everyone gets to pick up a perfect fit at the hospital, day-of.) How the experience will affect Randall and the toll it takes on his marriage, family and relationship with his daughters will be something to see.

Will we learn how Beth and Randall met?

They are the goddamn cutest — even their marriage counselor knows it — and the story of how they met and fell in love is no doubt crushingly sweet. Talking to Deadline, Fogelman said this:

"DEADLINE: Do the plans for Season 2 include revelations of how Jack died or how Rebecca and Miguel and Randall and Beth got together?FOGELMAN: You will likely learn a lot (if not all) about two of those those things."

Honestly, we’d rank ’em 1) Jack’s death 2) Randall and Beth 3) Miguel and Rebecca but we have a sinking feeling it’s like 1) Miguel and Rebecca 2) Jack’s death 3) Randall and Beth.

Will Kate and Toby get hitched?

Kate and Toby’s relationship has seen bumps, conflict and medical emergencies, but they’re going strong and seem totally in love. The couple is engaged and Kate seems ready to tell Toby about what happened with Jack’s death and her own feelings of guilt. This disclosure and trust feels like the last major obstacle for Kate and Toby, but it may not be all good vibes on the way to the altar:

"“I think they’re coming down from the dopamine, serotonin festival of falling in love,” Chris Sullivan, who plays Toby, said. “It’s about to get real.”"

How long do we have to wait for a William flashback?

Fogelman told Deadline that he plans “on William and Ron [actor Ron Cephas Jones] being a a big part of the series next year” and we could not be more excited about it. Of course, that means he’s appearing in flash backs, and perhaps even further complicating his relationship and history with Rebecca. Who knows how long we’ll have to wait to see him again, but more William is absolutely a good thing.

How long will we have to wait for Jack’s death reveal?

Honestly, just tell us already.
