Marvel’s latest teaser confirmed Black Panther’s involvement in ‘The Avengers: Infinity Wars’, but did it also confirm the appearance of Captain America and Black Widow in next spring’s ‘Black Panther’ film?

More from Hidden Remote

When the Avengers next assemble on the big screen for 2018’s The Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1, Marvel will bring together its biggest crop of heroes yet in a film which promises to unite several members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time ever. However, before the Avengers reassemble next May, several of our favorite heroes will take to the screen with new adventures.

Among the Marvel films set to hit theaters before Avengers: Infinity Wars is next February’s Black Panther film which will stand as the final Marvel feature before the Avengers’ next mission begins. The king of Wakanda, is set to make his solo debut in a film that will further expand upon the Black Panther mythos while allowing star Chadwick Boseman the chance to further explore his iconic hero’s rise to power and attempt to protect his nation.

Currently, there are no members of the Avengers team set to appear in Black Panther but this is Marvel we’re talking about – a studio known for operating in the dark and keeping cameos under tight lock and key until films premiere – and the way in which Marvel recently teased the inclusion of Black Panther in Avengers: Infinity Wars has us questioning whether one duo will pop up in the Black Panther film.

In confirming Black Panther’s involvement in Avengers: Infinity Wars, Marvel Studios released a video from the set displaying three chairs adorned with the names of T’Challa (aka Black Panther’s true identity) as well as Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers. While many have chalked the teaser up to a fun way to confirm Boseman’s casting in Avengers: Infinity Wars, I can’t help shake the feeling that there is much more to the story than simply announcing Black Panther’s role in Avengers: Infinity Wars.

Given the size and scope of Avengers: Infinity Wars, there were countless heroes that could have been teased in the video but Marvel chose to confirm T’Challa’s arrival on set in conjunction with the alter egos of Black Widow and Captain America in particular.

While it is possible that the teaser was strictly designed to confirm Black Panther’s involvement in the next Avengers film, could Marvel have subtly confirmed the inclusion of Black Widow and Captain America in next February’s Black Panther film?

As Black Panther is the final Marvel film before Avengers: Infinity Wars it seems likely that the film will feature at least one-post credits scene that sets the stage for the looming battle against Thanos. What if said scene involves Black Widow and Captain America making their way to Wakanda to enlist Black Panther in the fight ahead?

It wouldn’t be the first time either character popped up in the end scene to enlist a fellow Avenger for a mission and it would be a great way to get fans talking before Avengers: Infinity Wars drops in May. And what would a Marvel movie be without another Avenger or two crashing the party?

Black Panther is slated to hit theaters February 16, 2018 while The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 should arrive on May 4, 2018.

Do you think Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity Wars\ teaser confirming Chadwick Boseman’s involvement in the film could also have been a subtle hint at Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson popping up in Black Panther?
