God bless TV Guide for creating a supercut of Jack’s best dad moments for all the This Is Us haters.

We know that you, dedicated This Is Us fan that you are, know what an exceptional — and hot — dad Jack Pearson is. Every flashback is a testament to his crushingly cute commitment to his children and willingness to be flawed as he figures this whole dad-of-triplets thing out. (Not to mention the complexities of adoption and Being Different.) Jack’s scenes are just hit after hit of Inspirational Dad Speeches and Very Dad Moments. Jack is Peak Dad.

However, some haters out there created Father’s Day rankings — best dads, most handsome dads, etc. — with nary a mention of Jack Pearson. (Also with nary a mention of Randall Pearson who, much like Jack, is an exceptional dad. Shout out Pearson dads. Shout out Thanksgiving dads, generally.) Luckily, TV Guide is here to set everyone straight.

TV Guide, doing the Lord’s work, created a supercut of Jack’s best dad moments from season 1, and really we’ll let Jack, World’s Greatest Dad, do the talking. Enjoy the segment below.

Of course, even a supercut only scratches the surface of Jack just out dad-ing all the other dads at every moment. Even his facial hair is a testament to dads through the decades.

Jack is also a truly meta Best Dad, given that he is, in large part, inspired by Milo Ventimiglia’s own dad. The actor who plays Jack has stated in multiple interviews how he modeled his character on the behavior and support his father showed growing up.

In any case, Father’s Day proceedings involving Jack are made all the more tragic by knowing that Papa Pearson does not survive the 90s. His death has easily become the most pressing question for fans and, perhaps sensing it was a bit of preoccupation, the show will give us an answer — at least the gist of the answer — in the season 2 premiere.
